My own experiences influence my artwork in a dramatic way. My pieces used to show little to no emotions.  When I first started to create art, I wanted only to draw graphite portraits.  I never wanted to venture out into another medium or try something other than portraits.  I was afraid to fail.  Looking back at my art, I wish I had been more experimental.  However, I do not regret creating only realistic portraits.  Doing them helped me to improve my proportion and anatomical skills.

I don't really see my artwork fitting into any one category. I would like to say that my pieces are conceptual, but, I do not always thoroughly plan them out or want the meaning to be more important than the art itself.  I like for my artwork to have meaning behind them, but I also want it to be aesthetically pleasing to myself as well as others.  My pieces will always have a meaning, even if that meaning is very literal.

I get inspiration for my pieces through the experiences I have. All of my pieces involving teeth are about my childhood or the fact that I miss my childhood and the experiences that I had. I also enjoy looking at works by Zmiya Mochoruk, Zack Dunn, Emil Melmoth, and Clive Barker.  Each of them inspire me to keep creating art, as well as give me hope that my artwork will take me somewhere in life.

I use my artwork as an outlet for self-expression. I create the artwork that I do in hopes of showing people that they can relate to others.  I truly enjoy expressing myself through my artwork and I hope that it can inspire others to do the same.
