This is Lady Death. She is not meant to be beautiful. She is angry, sad, fed up with the world and what it has become. Her makeup and hair are a mess. Her raggedness symbolizes her feelings of anguish. Her eyes show they have seen what cannot be undone. She shows her imperfections to the world: her jagged teeth, her outlined blonde brows, her overdrawn lips. She shows her imperfections with the closeness of the camera, but she does this to show the world that even Lady Death has her imperfections and is not always what people romanticize her to be.
